Thank you to everyone who has visited this blog over the past few days. Thousands of people have read and shared the words on social media, prompting much needed discussion about the intersection of police brutality, structural racism and the devaluing of black life. Thank you for answering the call to action to become more engaged in fighting against racism and structural inequities.
Friends, like many of you, I am devastated by the grand jury decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson for the death of Michael Brown. I am writing a new essay right now that will be published on Guernica either tomorrow or on Friday that will share my thoughts on what kind of justice we can achieve together, if we can have no redress in the courts. In the meantime, here are some of the articles, photos and videos that I have found to be instructive and thought-provoking as I try to make sense of this troubling and painful situation. Please share these with people you care about. We need to keep this conversation going.

Thanks very much for the leads. Here’s another one: “Barack Obama, Ferguson, and the Evidence of Things Unsaid,” by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I’ll read anything TNC says about anything. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2014/11/barack-obama-ferguson-and-the-evidence-of-things-unsaid/383212/
What about thean from Southern Salt Lake City, UT that was shot and killed leaving a 7/11 who was unarmed, Just a few months away from becoming a father and, according to his family members he was with, hadn’t committed any crimes? His name was Dylan Taylor. Who do we blame for his life being taken? About a father being taken from an unborn child?
Not only are you the worst keyboard wanna-be journalist I’ve ever seen, you seem to completely ignore the facts about the incident in Ferguson. A life was lost, and that is tragic, but Mike Brown wasn’t some innocent high school kid. You can spin and tell stories, but factual forensic evidence will always prevail regardless of color/creed/gender and worthless propagandists like you.
